Introduction

At some point, you realize what you’ve been doing isn’t working the way you hoped. You’ve tried to think your way through it. Push through it. Stay positive. Be “fine.” But the same patterns keep showing up— in your thoughts, your relationships, and how you feel day to day. Therapy is a space to slow that down, understand what’s underneath it, and start making different choices that actually stick. For some people, therapy helps—but doesn’t fully shift what keeps repeating. That’s where ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) can be a powerful next step. I work with adults across California through virtual therapy and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), with in-home KAP available in San Diego County and surrounding areas. ──────── ~ About Me ~ ──────── I work with adults who look like they have it together—but feel stuck on the inside. Overthinking. Anxiety. Patterns that keep repeating, even when you’re trying to do things differently. My style is casual, real, and direct. You don’t have to filter yourself here. You’ll have space to feel understood—and be challenged in ways that actually help you move forward. This work is about building self-trust and creating change that shows up in your real life. I help adults work through anxiety, trauma, relationship patterns, ADHD, and what keeps repeating, offering both therapy and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. ──────── ~ How I Work ~ ──────── Our work together is both practical and deep. We’ll build tools you can use right away—while also exploring the patterns, past experiences, and emotional loops that keep showing up in your life. This often includes: • Learning ways to manage anxiety and overthinking in the moment • Understanding patterns in relationships, boundaries, and self-trust • Processing experiences that still impact you—even if you’ve learned to minimize them • Turning insight into changes that actually show up in your day-to-day life For some people, talk therapy helps—but doesn’t fully shift what keeps repeating. That’s where other approaches, like ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), can be a powerful next step. ──────────────────────── ~ Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) ~ ──────────────────────── Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) offers a different way of working when talk therapy hasn’t fully shifted what keeps repeating. Rather than just talking through patterns, the medicine can help create space from them, making it easier to process emotions, memories, and perspectives that feel stuck. You remain aware and supported throughout the process. My role is to help you stay grounded, make sense of what comes up, and turn it into meaningful change afterward. Sessions are structured, supported, and tailored to your needs. KAP is provided in coordination with a licensed medical prescriber. You’ll meet with a psychiatric provider to determine if this is an appropriate option for you. For many people, this creates a shift that feels different from traditional therapy alone. I work with adults across California through virtual KAP, with in-home sessions available in-home sessions available across much of San Diego County and surrounding areas. ──────── What to expect: • Sessions are intentional, supported, and paced to your needs • You remain aware and in control, even as your perspective and emotional access shift • Integration is a key part of the process, so insights carry into your day-to-day life Important details: • In-person KAP sessions are offered on Fridays • Initial sessions are typically 3 hours • Sessions can take place in your home or another private setting • A consultation helps determine if this is the right fit for you If you’re curious about KAP, you’re welcome to reach out with questions or schedule a consultation. ──────── ~ Common Questions ~ ──────── Will I lose control during a KAP session? No—you remain aware throughout the experience. While your perception and emotional access may shift, you’re still able to track what’s happening and stay connected to yourself. ~ What does a KAP session feel like? Each experience is different, but many people describe feeling more open and less stuck. It can allow access to thoughts or emotions in a way that feels easier to work with. My role is to support you through the process and help you make sense of what comes up. ~ How do I know if KAP is right for me? You don’t have to figure that out on your own. We can talk through your goals and history in a consultation, and you’ll also meet with a medical provider to determine if it’s an appropriate option. ~ Is KAP safe? KAP is provided in coordination with a licensed medical prescriber who evaluates whether it’s appropriate for you. My role is to provide therapeutic support throughout the process to help ensure it’s safe, structured, and meaningful. ──────── ~ Getting Started ~ ──────── Starting therapy—or exploring KAP—can feel like a big step. I offer a free 18-minute consultation to help you ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide if this feels like the right fit. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. To get started, you can text, call, or email. ──────── ~ Scheduling ~ ──────── Telehealth availability is Monday–Thursday First appointment: 8:00 AM Lunch break: 11:00 AM–12:00 PM Last appointment: 2:00 PM In-person sessions are Fridays (KAP only) No evening or weekend availability at this time ──────── ~ Insurance & Superbills ~ ──────── I provide superbills for clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement. If you’d like support estimating your benefits or navigating the reimbursement process, I offer Mentaya as an optional service to help simplify this. To check your eligibility: mentaya.co/b/2JX5XSR9ixaAFOTCL1Lf ──────── ~ Fit & Referrals ~ ──────── This may be a good fit if you’re looking for a therapy approach that is grounded, practical, and relationship-focused—with space for both tools and deeper work. If you’re seeking Brainspotting, a highly specialized IFS-only practice, or dedicated eating disorder treatment, I may not be the best match—but I’m always happy to help you find the right next step. ──────── ~ Contact ~ ──────── Email: elissa.duggan@sempergenesis.com Call or text: (442) 222-8061 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elissaduggan/ ──────── ~ Safety Note ~ ──────── I’m not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. If you’re in the U.S. and need immediate emotional support, you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). ──────── If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy—or wondering if something more could help—you don’t have to figure it out alone. Reaching out is simply a first step, and we can take it from there together.
