Introduction

I'm a psychiatrist who seeks to understand the whole person across levels of the mind, brain, and culture. I've completed MD/PhD training and psychiatry residency at Stanford, as well as additional training in psychotherapy at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and the weight of perfectionism or work stress. I'm also deeply committed to exploring how cultural and systemic oppression shape our inner lives and self-esteem. I believe meaningful change happens in the context of a therapeutic relationship where you are able to feel understood. Learn more on my website: drelizabethbeam.com
