Introduction

Welcome to my practice. I have been in practice for over 20 years, specializing in adult psychiatry and psychotherapy. I have a keen interest in the relationship between different ways of understanding human experience, exploring the interplay between biology and psychology, understanding symptoms like anxiety or depression both from the perspective of "what can I do to change how I feel?" (would medication help with this? would other changes like exercise or diet or exposure therapy or other interventions?) and from a wider perspective that listens for larger questions about what is meaningful in your life and where you are headed. This duality is a constant how I think about my work and about life in general. My approach is collaborative: If we decide it is a good fit, we will work to understand what you are experiencing and come up with a plan for treatment, whether with medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle or in combination. Please note that I have a fee for service practice, and am out of network for all insurance plans. This allows me the flexibility to practice in the way that I believe best serves the interests of all my patients. I recommend that you check with your insurance about reimbursement rates for out of network services, as many insurance plans will reimburse you for a significant portion of the costs you incur. While my practice does not submit insurance claims on your behalf, we are happy to walk you through the steps necessary to do so.
