Liz brings a unique blend of professional training and rich life experience to her counseling practice. Her journey to the counseling profession has been shaped by years of experience as a wife, mother, homeschool educator, and former foster parent. These experiences have provided her with a deep appreciation for the challenges that individuals, children, couples, and families may encounter throughout life's journey. "Liz embodies the compassionate, client-centered care that Hope Harbor Counseling Center strives to provide," said a representative of the practice. "Her warmth, empathy, and dedication to helping others make her a wonderful addition to our team and a valuable resource for our community." Liz believes that no one should have to navigate difficult seasons alone. Her counseling approach is warm, supportive, and person-centered, with a focus on helping clients feel seen, heard, and valued. She believes that every person has the capacity for growth and healing, even during times of uncertainty and struggle, and she is passionate about walking alongside clients as they discover their strengths, clarify their values, and take meaningful steps toward emotional well-being. At Hope Harbor Counseling Center, Liz provides counseling services for children, adults, and couples, and families, helping clients address concerns such as anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional struggles, and other issues that may interfere with living a fulfilling life. Her therapeutic approach incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), cognitive-behavioral strategies, play therapy methods, and creative experiential techniques tailored to each client's unique needs. Liz is also pursuing certification in sand tray therapy, a specialized therapeutic approach that offers children and adults a creative and meaningful way to explore emotions and experiences that may be difficult to express through words alone. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Truman State University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri Baptist University. Liz currently practices as a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor under the supervision of Melinda Fambrough LPC, RPT. Outside of the counseling office, Liz enjoys singing, performing in community theater, and spending time in nature. Her diverse life experiences, combined with her professional training and genuine care for people, allow her to connect authentically with clients and provide compassionate support throughout the counseling process.
