Introduction

Elizabeth Taylor is the owner and psychotherapist of Summit & Sea Therapy. She has a deep passion for helping individuals, couples and families navigate the complexities of identity, trauma, and relationships. Her clinical interests include identity exploration, PTSD, sex and intimacy, anxiety, and OCD. She brings a compassionate, grounded presence to the therapeutic space—one where clients can safely explore the parts of themselves that often go unheard or unseen. She thrives when helping people deepen their insight and reconnect with their authenticity. Her approach is rooted in attachment theory, which she believes is central to how we relate to ourselves and others. She has completed Level 1 Training in the Gottman Method and the EFT Couples Therapy externship. She draws from both frameworks to help couples slow down, connect, and build emotional safety. She utilizes a systemic lens and non-pathologizing approach and strives to help her clients understand and break out of the negative cycles that keep them feeling stuck. She is passionate about creating spaces where partners feel seen, heard, and supported - especially in today's fast-paced society. As a military kid, she spent much of her life living in different countries, which gave her a global perspective and a deep curiosity about people’s inner lives. She's always been drawn to conversations about life, death, and meaning. In addition to her clinical training, she brings years of experience in mindfulness practices as a trained yoga instructor. This foundation supports her work with presence, self-regulation, and body awareness—always with cultural sensitivity woven into the healing process. While her work is primarily attachment-focused, she also draws on narrative therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, ACT, CBT and solution-focused strategies, depending on what best resonates with her client. Her approach is collaborative, warm, and adaptive, rooted in the belief that every person has the capacity to connect more fully with themselves and others when they feel safe enough to step into their authenticity and vulnerability.
