Many people I work with do not understand how they got to the point they are at in their lives or why they can’t get to where they want to be. You adapt patterns of thinking and coping that were once needed, but then are no longer serving you in your current phase of life. Now you continue to battle anxiety after trying every coping strategy, feel like you can’t handle things like you “used to,” or are constantly living in survival mode. It’s like trying to move forward with your feet stuck in cement—wanting change, but not knowing how to get there. Our unique history and experiences shape the way we view the world and how our nervous system responds to it. Much of this occurs subconsciously and is congruent with the resources we have available at the time. We can give ourselves some grace then to be human, and forgiveness when we act or react in ways that don’t align with what we’d like to do. There comes a point when we have to take initiative to change, and may need support to unlearn what we once learned. I specialize in EMDR therapy and offer a holistic, integrative approach to every individual client’s treatment. I strive to create a safe, welcoming place for you to show up as you are and begin this walk together. Whether you have been on a path of healing for quite some time now or are stepping into what may feel daunting and unfamiliar, I am humbled to be a part of your journey.
