Introduction

Here is a shorter version that keeps the warmth, professionalism, and your unique background: My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by many years of caring for others. Before becoming a licensed professional counselor, I spent ten years as a critical care nurse and fifteen years as an educator—experiences that taught me the importance of compassion, resilience, and truly meeting people where they are. I specialize in working with adults and couples navigating life's challenges, transitions, and relationships. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, loss, and major life changes, with a particular passion for helping women through infertility, pregnancy, postpartum concerns, perimenopause, menopause, and other women's mental health experiences. My background in critical care also provides a unique understanding of the emotional impact of illness, medical trauma, caregiving, and health-related transitions. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you feel seen, heard, and understood. Using a person-centered approach, I collaborate with each client to develop a personalized path toward healing and growth that honors their story, strengths, and values. I believe meaningful change happens through a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, authenticity, and acceptance. I am an EMDR therapist and have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, allowing me to support individuals and couples through evidence-based approaches tailored to their needs. I also incorporate mindfulness and other therapeutic approaches to help clients build awareness, manage stress, process difficult experiences, and develop emotional resilience. Whether you are facing a difficult season, feeling stuck, or seeking personal growth, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Therapy is a collaborative journey, and I believe it has the power to foster healing, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. I also tightened some of the repetition around "support," "healing," and "personalized care" while keeping the qualities that differentiate you from many therapists—your nursing background, educator experience, perinatal/women's mental health specialty, couples work, and warm relational style.
