Hi, I’m Elyssa. My path into therapy began through more than 13 years of working in healthcare, where I saw firsthand how emotional stress, trauma, family challenges, and difficult life experiences can affect a person’s overall well-being. That experience inspired me to pursue social work and create the kind of space where people can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, stress, and major life transitions. I have a particular passion for supporting Black men and adolescents—including young men and young women—who may have learned to stay guarded, remain strong for everyone else, or manage difficult emotions alone. Our sessions will feel conversational, collaborative, and centered on your needs. We will explore how past experiences may be affecting your life today, recognize patterns that no longer serve you, and develop practical ways to manage emotions, communicate more effectively, strengthen relationships, and feel more in control. You do not need perfect words or have to share everything at once. We can begin with what is affecting you today and move forward at a pace that feels comfortable.
