Do you (or your child/teen) have difficulty handling current anxiety, OCD, or stressors, or difficulty moving forward from past trauma? Do you find it challenging to understand or manage your emotional responses? Struggling in your interpersonal relationships? I can support you by combining talk therapy with mindfulness and somatic practices (i.e. breathing practices, meditation, and yoga) to help you better understand how your brain and body work together, and build a personal toolbox of skills. My goal is to support you (or your child/teen) in building awareness of your thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, values, and actions. I specialize in anxiety, OCD, trauma, stress, relationship conflict, and attachment. I have a particular specialization in adapting interventions for children and teens (age 5-17), and also see adults and couples. As a Registered Yoga Teacher, I can incorporate yoga and movement as much or as little as desired. Sessions can also include elements of art, play, and games. I believe there is no “one size fits all” therapeutic approach, and I am committed to working with you to create a unique and tailored experience for your life circumstances and at your own pace. I can be flexible in balancing therapy as a space for skill-building and exposure work, as well as a safe container for processing emotions and events. I specialize in supporting clients become more aware of their nervous system responses, especially as it applies to anxiety, stress, trauma, and relationships. Therapy sessions with me will support you (or your child/teen) in building a toolbox of skills to promote emotion regulation and interpersonal communication. Sessions may also use compassionate exposures to increase tolerance for distress. I studied Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) under its founding clinical research lab at the University of Washington, and its focus on mindfulness skills will underlie our work together. I use an eclectic approach that integrates multiple mindfulness-based modalities. I primarily use Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) in couple's therapy, which focuses on emotion awareness within a relational context.
