Emily Bentley is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience helping children, adults, and families navigate emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. As the founder of Guiding Stars Counseling and Consulting, Emily provides a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, supported, and comfortable being themselves. With adults, Emily works with people who may feel overwhelmed by work, parenting, relationships, midlife changes, anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem concerns, or simply trying to keep up with everything life requires. Therapy offers a place to slow down, understand patterns, and make changes that feel realistic and meaningful. Emily also specializes in Child-Centered Play Therapy for children ages 4–11. She believes play is the natural language of childhood and gives children a way to express feelings and experiences they may not yet have words for. Through play, Emily helps children work through anxiety, ADHD, impulsivity, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and behavioral challenges while building confidence and resilience. She partners closely with parents and caregivers throughout the therapy process, helping families better understand their child’s needs and supporting meaningful change. Reaching out for help can be difficult, whether you are looking for support for yourself or for your child. Emily offers a compassionate space where clients can feel heard and supported as they move toward greater confidence.
