Introduction

I'm Emily J. Burnham, a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist passionate about helping individuals and couples find healing, deepen connection, and create lasting change. I've always been fascinated by how people feel, communicate, and connect. As a teenager, I witnessed conflict, abuse, and divorce in many of my family members' marriages. I began to wonder whether healthy, deeply connected relationships were truly possible. That question sparked a desire to understand what helps relationships thrive and ultimately led me to pursue a career in marriage and family therapy. Today, I help couples navigate emotional disconnection, recurring conflict, and differences in faith, spirituality, and core values. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we look beneath painful patterns to understand the emotions and needs driving them. Together, we work toward rebuilding trust, strengthening emotional safety, and helping you feel heard, understood, and connected again. I also support individuals navigating emotional overwhelm, personal struggles, and seasons of change. I believe healing involves caring for the whole person—mind, body, emotions, relationships, and, for those who desire it, faith. You don't have to agree on everything to build a meaningful relationship. Whether you're working through relationship injuries, navigating differing beliefs, or seeking greater personal understanding, therapy can help you move forward with compassion, clarity, and connection.
