Hi, I'm Emily. If you're carrying anxiety, sadness, old wounds, or just a sense that something isn't working, you don't have to sort through it alone. My goal is to give you a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly about whatever is weighing on you, at your own pace. I believe you already have strengths and tools within you to meet your challenges and reach your goals. Sometimes they just need room to surface. My job is to help you find them, build on them, and put them to work in your everyday life. Over the past four years, I've worked with adolescents and adults from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, supporting them through anxiety, depression, ADHD, personality disorders, and trauma. Every person's story is different, so my approach is too. At the heart of my work is Person-Centered Therapy, meaning you lead and I follow with care and curiosity. I blend in practical, evidence-based tools depending on what you need: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to notice and challenge the harsh or unhelpful thoughts that keep you stuck Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), especially mindfulness skills, to help you ride out intense emotions and respond rather than react Motivational Interviewing (MI) to explore what you want to change, and gently work through any mixed feelings about getting there I earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University, my M.S. in Psychology in Education from Teachers College, Columbia
