Introduction

Hello! I'm Emily, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider designation serving clients across Tennessee. Amid change, we can hold two truths at once: life can be genuinely hard, and it can still be genuinely good. We don't have to romanticize suffering to find meaning in it, nor do we have to wait until everything falls apart to appreciate what is working. True well-being is not the absence of distress, but the presence of eudaemonia — a deeply rooted, purposeful life. By combining the emotional scaffolding of DBT with a warm, collaborative approach, I help you transition from surviving emotional storms to actively flourishing. Over the past five years, I have worked with individuals experiencing a broad range of clinical concerns, with a growing focus on anxiety, pregnancy and postpartum mental health, military and veteran experiences, and personality disorders. My approach is rooted in DBT principles and a commitment to making mental health care accessible, practical, and individualized. I strive to create a collaborative space where you can explore difficult emotions, develop effective coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and build a life that feels more manageable and meaningful. I want to help you reach a deep, stable state of being and active living through life’s expected and unexpected changes. As people, we have unique human capacities. My practice highlights acceptance, balance, and growth that embraces the reality that life includes hard work, struggle and pain that can still lead to personal growth, character development and a sense of purpose.
