Emily Franchi is a licensed professional counselor based in Rochester Hills, MI who specializes in trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and relationship concerns. Her practice is open to adults from all backgrounds and stages of life, with a particular focus on individuals healing from trauma and healthcare professionals navigating the emotional demands of high-stress work. Emily is licensed to practice in both Michigan and Illinois, primarily serving the Metro Detroit and Chicago areas. Emily has extensive experience working with adults navigating trauma, grief, ADHD, life transitions, and the impact of past experiences on present-day relationships, self-esteem, and emotional well-being. She also has a special interest in supporting healthcare professionals who may be managing burnout, secondary trauma, high levels of responsibility, or the challenge of caring for others while tending to their own needs. Emily places a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and strives to create a space where clients feel comfortable being honest, doing deeper work, and exploring the experiences and patterns that continue to shape their lives. Emily takes an integrative, trauma-informed approach to treatment, balancing symptom relief with deeper, longer-term healing and growth. She uses EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, and Internal Family Systems as central parts of her work, while also incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness-based tools when helpful. Her approach is collaborative and individualized, with treatment shaped around each client’s history, goals, and needs rather than a one-size-fits-all model. Emily is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and EMDR-trained provider with nearly a decade of experience supporting clients through trauma recovery. She works with people at many different points in the healing process, from those beginning trauma therapy for the first time to clients who have already spent years in therapy and are ready to approach their work in a deeper or different way. MY PERSONAL BELIEFS AND INTERESTS: I have always been fascinated by psychology, neuroscience, and what shapes us into who we are. That curiosity grew alongside my own experiences witnessing the impact of mental health challenges on my family, friends, and community, and together they led me toward a career where I could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. What I value most about being a therapist is the privilege of truly getting to know people beyond the roles they carry and the masks they may wear. I get to help clients better understand themselves, heal from what they have been through, and reconnect with who they are and how they want to live. I care deeply about this work, and I genuinely love what I do. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dogs and family, gardening, going to concerts and traveling to new places. I am also an avid reader and have a newfound interest in beekeeping.
