Introduction

I have an informal, nonjudgmental style where you can feel free to say the things out loud that you’ve been keeping inside for way too long. I’m a “tell it like it is” kind of person. I love to laugh, but I also understand the heaviness of some of the things you may be carrying into our sessions together. I believe working on your mental health requires an integrative approach. Your physical, emotional, and spiritual health are all connected, and we’ll look at how these parts of your life interact with one another. Together, we’ll explore your personal story and begin making connections to the parts that may be in need of healing, understanding, and growth. A Special Note for First Responders, Healthcare Professionals, and Their Families: When you work in emergency services or healthcare, the job comes with a unique set of stressors. Repeated exposure to things most other people never see, shift work, and the inflexible demands of the job can impact every part of life—both for you and for the people who love you. I understand this world well and have personally been part of a first responder family for over twenty years. My goal is to provide a space where you don’t have to explain the culture, the dark humor, or the weight of what you carry. We can talk openly about the realities of the work and how it’s affecting you both on and off the job. Additional Areas of Experience: I also have personal and professional experience navigating the challenges—and strengths—of neurodiversity. I hold certifications in working with individuals who are diagnosed with or identify with traits of ADHD and/or Autism. Before private practice, I spent years working in medical social work as a hospice and oncology social worker. I’m very aware of the ways that physical illness—your own or a loved one’s—can affect mental health, and I’m comfortable having honest conversations about the realities of chronic and terminal illness.
