Introduction

Emily has more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field and has dedicated her career to helping people overcome anxiety, OCD, and other emotional challenges. Before entering private practice, she built extensive clinical and leadership experience across multiple levels of behavioral healthcare. She began her career at The Methodist Home for Children & Youth, where she served as Director of the Therapeutic Foster Care and Adoption Programs. In 2003, she joined Coliseum Psychiatric Center (now Piedmont Behavioral Health), where she developed the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for both Chemical Dependency and Psychiatric Services. These experiences provided a strong clinical foundation in treating complex mental health conditions across a wide range of ages and diagnoses. After 15 years in hospital-based behavioral health, Emily transitioned to private practice, where she has spent the past several years providing specialized outpatient care. Today, Emily specializes in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, and helping athletes overcome the mental barriers that interfere with peak performance. She believes therapy should be collaborative, practical, and tailored to each individual's needs. Her primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), integrating mindfulness and other evidence-based interventions to help clients create meaningful, lasting change. For individuals with OCD, she utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), two highly effective, research-supported treatments. Emily is also a certified SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) provider, helping parents learn strategies to reduce anxiety-driven patterns within the family. As a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCH), she incorporates hypnotherapy when appropriate to help clients work through barriers, increase emotional awareness, and support lasting change. Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts from Mercer University, where she double majored in Psychology and the Program in Service Learning (Human Services), and her Master of Science in Applied Psychology from Georgia College & State University. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia since 2001 and is also licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in Florida. She is a professional member of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia (LPCAGA) and the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). In addition to working with clients, Emily has extensive experience as a clinical supervisor and consultant, mentoring therapists who want to develop expertise in the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders. Emily is the proud mother of two adult sons who are each building fulfilling lives of their own. Now based in Orlando, she is excited to bring nearly three decades of clinical experience to the Central Florida community. Licensed in both Georgia and Florida, Emily is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that helps clients move beyond feeling stuck and toward living fuller, more confident lives. Whether you're struggling with OCD, anxiety, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, Emily's goal is to help you build lasting confidence, regain your freedom, and create a life no longer driven by fear.
