Introduction

Emily Emily works with adults, children ages 8–11, teenagers, and young adults. Her work often focuses on helping clients understand how early family-of-origin experiences and attachment relationships continue to shape identity, emotional responses, and relational patterns. Her approach is trauma-informed and draws from Internal Family Systems–informed work, EMDR, and somatic awareness. Therapy often includes exploring early relational experiences, recognizing internal protective patterns, and developing greater clarity and integration in how clients understand themselves and their lives. Emily holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine. She is a Registered Counselor Associate in Oregon (#R8882) and practices under the supervision of Terrill Rogers, LPC, CADC-II (License #C5288). Emily is also comfortable incorporating elements of spiritual formation into the counseling process if clients desire. John John works with adults, adolescents, children, and couples. His work focuses on helping clients understand relational dynamics, emotional patterns, and how early experiences influence present-day relationships and personal functioning. His approach integrates trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, and principles from the Townsend Character Growth Model. Therapy may include exploring attachment patterns, family-of-origin dynamics, identity development, boundaries, and the process of integrating loss and life transitions. John holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine and a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon (#C7951) and also holds South Carolina Telehealth registration (#TLC1726PC). John can incorporate elements of spiritual formation into the counseling process if clients desire. Sessions and Consultation Both clinicians provide in-person sessions in Hood River and HIPAA-compliant telehealth throughout Oregon. New clients are welcome to schedule a free phone consultation to determine whether therapy at Columbia Gorge Counseling may be a good fit.
