Emily Schubert

i'm not too different from you or the clients i work with. like everyone else, i'm human. i’ve been through immensely wonderful and profoundly difficult experiences that have shaped who i am and how i approach the helping process. my life experiences are what led me to become the therapist i am today. as a therapist, i thrive working with clients struggling with anxiety, identity, gender and sexuality, mood fluctuations, relationships, trauma, and a number of other challenges we face on the daily. my goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and lost, and to start facilitating the positive change you so desperately desire. i know how hard it is to juggle a relationship, marriage, family, academics and/or career. i know the struggles of trying to embrace individuality while also cultivating a sense of belonging within a community. i know how difficult it may be to practice boundaries in certain areas of life, expressing yourself fully and consistently, and owning who/how you are. i understand what it’s like to be overwhelmed with stress, worry, sadness and grief, guilt/shame, and hopelessness. i’ve also felt like i’d been missing something in my life or were half the person i so desperately wanted to be. and i'm here to help. together, we can work towards developing strategies and needed skills to grow towards your pre-existing potential, improve your confidence, strengthen the connectedness with yourself and others, manage your emotions, and feel more engaged in a purpose-driven and fulfilling life that you enjoy.
