Introduction

Welcome. I'm glad you're here. I'm a bilingual (English/Spanish), bicultural Latina born and raised in San José. Growing up in this community has shaped not only who I am, but also how I show up as a therapist. I understand that our mental health is influenced by much more than our individual experiences—it is shaped by our relationships, families, culture, identities, communities, and the systems we navigate every day. I strive to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe enough to show up as your authentic self. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, women's mental health, chronic health conditions, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, my hope is that you'll feel seen, heard, and respected from our very first conversation. I proudly welcome clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and identities and am a committed ally to LGBTQIA+ individuals, families, and other historically marginalized communities. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience, I've had the privilege of supporting individuals across healthcare and community settings through individual psychotherapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, behavioral health, and care coordination. Those experiences have reinforced what I believe to be true: healing happens within the context of safe, trusting relationships. My approach integrates evidence-based practices with a holistic, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and decolonial perspective. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we'll explore the experiences, relationships, values, strengths, and cultural influences that have shaped your life. Together, we'll identify practical tools that support healing while honoring your unique story and the resilience you've carried along the way. I don't believe therapy is about fixing what's "wrong" with you. I believe healing begins when your whole story is welcomed with curiosity, compassion, and respect. It is an honor to walk alongside my clients as they reconnect with themselves, build on their strengths, and create lives that feel more connected, intentional, and aligned with what matters most to them. Meet Hazel 🐾 Hazel, my 30-pound Australian Labradoodle, is often by my side in the office. With her calm and gentle presence, she helps many clients feel more comfortable and at ease. Whether she's quietly resting nearby or offering a warm greeting, Hazel brings an extra sense of comfort and connection to the therapy space. Bienvenida/o.
