https://therapywithemy.com I am a psychotherapist with 25 years of experience in the NYC area working with diverse adult clinical populations. In my private practice, I work with high-achieving adults with an array of issues: -Complex mental health histories (including bipolar, depression, hospitalizations) -Substance use/misuse (includes harm reduction) -Neurodivergence and/or high sensitivity -Parents of neurodivergent/twice exceptional (2e) kids I believe therapy should feel human, not clinical. It works best when it honors your full humanity. I create a space where you can show up fully, say the thing you’re maybe afraid to say, and still be met with respect and curiosity. I have many “therapy tools” at my disposal (including psychodynamic, IFS, harm reduction, CBT, DBT, executive functioning support), but good therapy is not about forcing you to fit a model, it’s about using whatever helps you most. Sometimes the most powerful part of therapy isn’t the method. It’s the moment you realize you have been heard. I currently work fully online, but plan to go back to having an in-person option in the future. I am also on the adjunct faculty at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.
