Introduction

Therapy with me is emotionally focused. It is a shared experience: I join you in the places that have been too difficult to experience alone. It is compassionate: I have mostly healed from a childhood of intense abuse. I know how hard it can be to touch into pain we’ve carried for a life-time and know the relief that good therapy can bring. I am trained in the following approaches: Somatic Experiencing, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, and Coherence Therapy, and Spiritual Healing. All work with the Mind-Body Connection and each offers a slightly different pathway to healing. I am trained in PACT Couple Therapy, which is a Mind-Body approach to couples counseling. And, I am trained in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy. For clients interested in this approach, I offer support preparing for your journey and integration after the journey. Together, we’ll find the right pathway for you. Influences that impact my approach to therapy: Gabor Maté: On the impact of stress and abandonment on the body Taoist teachings: Transformation as a real possibility/not being constrained by convention. Buddhist teachings: On the divine nature of every being. I am a trans-feminine tomboy. I am a veteran crew of air-combat support missions, law enforcement, criminal justice attorney and college professor. I became a therapist later in life, after finding relief from a traumatic childhood, through therapy. Currently, my wife and I are restoring an old sailboat, to begin our next adventure. Fees & Insurances: I work as an out-of-network provider for most insurances. I work with Thrizer to streamline reimbursement, which varies by policy, but usually reimburses between 50%-80% of the cost of the reimbursable portion of your session fees. It's a bit complicated, because policies are so different. I can check for you to let you know exactly what your reimbursement will be. We have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services. You might be able to get reimbursed for out-of-network therapy! Check your benefit eligibility here: https://eligibility.thrizer.com/erika-laurentz-lmhc [Please copy and paste the link into your browser.] If you have insurance, your actual fee per session, using Thrizer means that sessions typically cost about $77. 15 minute initial consults: Free 60 minute sessions: $150 80 minute sessions: $200 Sliding Scale is available upon demonstrated need/at my discretion.
