At Birely Counseling Services, we work with clients through a holistic lens. While many people seek therapy for a specific behavior or challenge, we believe there are often deeper roots influencing what isn’t going well. I don’t believe my role is to tell someone what to do or not do. Instead, I aim to understand how you’ve been navigating life so far—what has worked for you, what hasn’t, and why. From there, my role is to get curious with you about whether there might be another way forward that feels more supportive, sustainable, and aligned with who you want to be. I help clients develop curiosity about their emotions, behaviors, and thinking patterns. Emotions are often framed as things to avoid or control, but I see them as our body’s most basic form of communication. When we avoid our emotions, we miss important information. In our work together, we focus on learning how to listen to emotions rather than fear them—how to make friends with them, even when they’re uncomfortable.
