Introduction

Welcome to Waypoints Counseling! I'm Erin Evanson-Lass, LCSW-S; a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board-Approved Supervisor in Texas, and the founder and Clinical Director of Waypoints Counseling, PLLC. Our practice is rooted in the belief that healing is possible, and that every person deserves a skilled, compassionate guide for the journey. I specialize in trauma, complex PTSD, relational wounds, and the patterns that keep people stuck including codependency, anxiety, and the long aftermath of adverse life experiences. I work with adults and adolescents (ages 10 and up), and I bring a holistic, person-in-environment lens to everything I do. My primary modality is EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based approach that helps people heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences at a neurological level. I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and Approved Consultant, which means I not only use EMDR in my own clinical work but also provide consultation to other therapists across the country in this modality. I also draw on polyvagal theory, IFS, somatic approaches, and attachment-based frameworks to meet each client where they are. I hold a Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University (2007) and a Master of Social Work from Washburn University (2010). I am also a U.S. Army veteran with five years of active duty service including deployments to Iraq and Honduras — an experience that deepened my understanding of resilience, moral injury, and what it means to carry things that are hard to put into words. If life feels like rough water right now, you don't have to navigate it alone. I'd be honored to help you find your bearings.
