Introduction

WELCOME Congratulations on taking the first step toward change. Reaching out for counseling takes courage, especially when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. You may be feeling stuck, stressed, anxious, or disconnected from the life you want to be living. You may be navigating a major transition, struggling with unhelpful coping patterns, or carrying the weight of past experiences. Whatever brings you here, you are not alone, and support is available. Counseling offers a safe, supportive space to slow down, reflect, and begin making sense of what you are experiencing. I admire the strength it takes to ask for help and begin this process. APPROACH At Thrive Counseling and Wellness, I provide individual counseling for adults ages 18 and older using a person-centered, collaborative approach. Therapy is tailored to each individual and focused on helping you build insight, develop effective coping skills, and create meaningful, sustainable change. We will work together to identify your goals, understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop a plan that feels realistic and supportive. I strive to create a calm, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and safe to explore what matters most to you. Growth does not require perfection. It begins with awareness, support, and a willingness to take small, intentional steps forward. WHAT HAPPENS IN COUNSELING Counseling is a collaborative process rooted in trust, curiosity, and growth. In our work together, you will have the opportunity to explore your experiences, thoughts, and emotions in a way that feels safe and supported. We will look at patterns that have developed over time, including those shaped by earlier life experiences, and how they may be influencing your present. Therapy includes both reflection and gentle challenge. You will gain new perspectives, increase awareness, and learn practical strategies to help you move forward. The goal is not to change who you are, but to help you live with greater clarity, flexibility, and self-trust. ABOUT ME Choosing to pause, reflect, and seek support is a meaningful step, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients during this process. I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, obsessive thoughts, life transitions, and the impact of past experiences. My hope is that you will find therapy to be a steady place to land as we work together toward greater understanding, fulfillment, and personal growth. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, drawing from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution-Focused strategies. I am also trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for posttraumatic stress disorder. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Clemson University in 2001 and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2011. I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina and Georgia and have experience working in community mental health and private practice settings. Outside of my professional work, I value family, connection, and meaningful growth. My husband and I have two sons, born in 2011 and 2015.
