Hi, I’m Erin. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) specializing as a Polyvagal Informed clinician. After several years working in a variety of social work settings and eventually solo practice, I noticed a growing inside whisper of something not feeling settled in the language commonly used regarding mental health. I didn’t feel at home when the focus was on diagnosis or what needs to be fixed, rather than seeing each other as wonderfully complex humans who are constantly adapting to the environments we live in. A few years ago, I stumbled upon a one-day training about the nervous system where my whisper felt heard. While I knew, based on my years of having the honor of sitting across from many people, that connection was the essential ingredient to meaningful therapeutic work, what I didn’t realize is that the connection was built upon two nervous systems feeling safe enough together. After that one-day training, I completed a Polyvagal Informed Training Series which allowed me to first better understand my own nervous system and therefore become a more present and content clinician – and overall human. From there, I learned ways to support others in better understanding their own nervous systems. Our nervous systems are at the heart of our lived experiences and influence how we move through our daily lives. It would be a true honor to work with you to support your ability to ride the waves of stress and return to balance with more ease.
