Hi, I'm Erin Sweeney, LCSW, and I work virtually with adults (18+) who are smart, high-achieving, and feel like everything looks together on the outside, but who are tired of living with chronic anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and OCD. I'm passionate about this work because I get it. I've been the person who wakes up daily with a weight on my chest —the weight of anxiety, worry, even dread about facing another day of trying to keep juggling, keep performing, and keep hiding how much I was struggling. I eventually discovered that the cost of control was losing connection with myself. That’s why I decided to become a therapist: to help people like you untangle the high-functioning exterior from the internal unrest, and build a life rooted in self-trust instead of perfection. If this sounds like you, it doesn't have to be this hard. As a therapist, it's my mission to help self-described perfectionists, overachievers, and control freaks let go of pressure and overwhelm, get in touch with their wants and needs, and learn to live a more calm, peaceful, and fulfilling life. I’ve spent the past ten years working across behavioral health and social work settings — from schools and in-home counseling programs to private practice — supporting individuals navigating anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, ADHD, traumatic stress, anger management challenges, school phobia, and major life transitions. Across every role, I’ve been most fulfilled by helping people untangle the patterns that keep them stuck and guiding them toward a gentler, freer way of being. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities like DBT, ERP, CBT, and mindfulness-based strategies within a warm, collaborative relationship. I believe deep healing happens when insight meets compassion; when we stop trying to “fix” ourselves and start listening to what our experiences are trying to tell us. What life can feel like on the other side of over-control: Imagine waking up and not immediately scanning your to-do list, replaying conversations, or bracing for the day. You feel calmer, more grounded. You can say no without self-resentment. You trust your own voice instead of always checking for permission. You allow unpredictability without falling apart. You don’t have to perform to feel worthy. You feel alive again, not because you achieved more, but because you allowed yourself to be you. If you’re ready to stop living in your head and start living from your heart, let’s connect.
