Figuring yourself out doesn’t end when you become an adult; it can be the beginning. Whether you followed the rules or struggled to fit in, you may feel “behind,” navigating a world without a map. You may find yourself caught between the person you’ve learned you’re supposed to be and the person you are becoming, especially when family, cultural, or social expectations shape how you see yourself. Drawing from my own East Asian and multicultural background, I have a particular appreciation for the complexities of navigating family and cultural expectations while developing a sense of self that feels authentic. In our collaborative work, we will slow down to understand what is happening beneath the surface, including emotions, beliefs, and expectations. We will make space to process overwhelming emotions, explore what you genuinely value and want, and sort through what feels truly yours versus what you may be carrying for others.
