Many of the people I work with grew up with parents/caregivers who didn’t know how to respond to their emotions– parents who brushed past what they were feeling, or weren't available to help them make sense of it. If that sounds familiar, you may have learned to minimize your own experiences and look outside yourself for reassurance instead of trusting what you feel. Those patterns can follow you into adulthood, showing up as anxiety, disconnection, or relationships that don't quite work the way you want them to. The goal isn’t to place blame, but to understand how your experiences shaped the way you relate to yourself and others. What we do together is making connections between your past and your present and learn to voice what you're actually feeling instead of minimizing it. I want to understand your story, not just diagnose a problem. My work is trauma-informed, incorporating somatic work, Internal Family Systems, and attachment therapy to help you heal and build self-compassion. If you're new to therapy, or you've had an experience before that didn't feel like a good fit, I want this to feel different – a space where you're not judged, and where we go at whatever pace feels safe for you. Together we'll explore what you're going through and work towards the changes that feel meaningful for you. I look forward to connecting!
