My name is Francis Okafor. I came to the United States of America in 1997. In 2001, I joined the US Army National Guard (both KS and Missouri) where I served as a Medic for 8 years. After my military service, I decided to go to Nursing School. I graduated with my MSN from Walden University as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in 2020. I have been practicing as a psychiatric nurse practitioner for more than two years. My passion for Psychiatric nursing is born out of my desire to assist vulnerable individuals attain possible health and independence through medication management and support. My approach to care is to be calm in front of my clients, show personal interest to their needs, take my time to understand the client’s perspective, acknowledge the client’s feelings and take care of my own needs as a provider. My expectation is for my clients to leave any sessions with me feeling respected, listened to and provided possible solutions to their concerns.
