Introduction

Genevieve Maliszewski, PhD is a licensed psychologist with specialized training in evidence-based treatment for adolescents and young adults. She earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 2015 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and has worked since then at Children's Nebraska as a staff psychologist. She has extensive experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and the psychological impact of chronic medical conditions. Dr. Maliszewski specializes in helping individuals manage chronic illness, including diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and other conditions. She works closely with clients and their families to address the emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges that often accompany long-term health conditions, with a focus on reducing burnout, increasing medical adherence, and improving quality of life. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. She integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic principles, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. Her work emphasizes building insight, resilience, and practical strategies to support meaningful and lasting change. In her practice, Dr. Maliszewski strives to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe exploring difficult emotions and experiences. She is committed to helping clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and move toward greater emotional well-being and fulfillment.
