Introduction

Hi, I’m Gilan — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist based in Texas. I help adults and young adults navigate anxiety, depression, burnout/stress, relationship challenges, trauma, and identity or belonging struggles. Many of the people I work with are doing a lot, carrying a lot, and are ready for meaningful change. You might be trying to live up to the expectations of your family, your culture, your profession — and your own high standards — while quietly feeling overwhelmed, stuck or just languishing. Maybe you’ve been told to “just push through,” or you’re tired of explaining parts of your story that should’ve been understood from the start. If any of this resonates, you’re in the right place. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in your lived experience. We won’t just talk — we’ll actively work together to identify patterns, build new skills, and help you move forward with more clarity and confidence. I’m trained in evidence-based modalities including EMDR, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and I’m a Level 3 Advanced TEAM-CBT therapist. I bring a culturally attuned lens to the work we do. As a South Asian and Zoroastrian, with an academic background in social work, law, and currently pursuing an MBA, I understand the emotional toll of navigating systems that weren’t built with you in mind. I’ve supported clients through high-pressure careers, intergenerational family expectations, academic and financial stress, imposter syndrome, and the burnout that often comes from being “the strong one.” In 2025, I was honored with the Torch of Liberty Award from the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association for my advocacy and innovative contributions to social justice. In therapy, we’ll slow things down and create space for reflection, growth, and healing — without having to leave parts of yourself behind. I work with people from all walks of life, and I hold space for complexity, culture, and care. If you’re looking for therapy that honors where you come from and helps you get to where you want to be, I’d be honored to work with you. Let’s connect. I offer a free 30-minute consultation call to answer your questions and help you get a feel for how I work. To get started, email me at gilan@gkpreservetherapy.com. I’ll respond within 24–48 hours to schedule your consultation. – I offer virtual therapy across Texas, with sessions available on weekday evenings and weekends. – Sliding scale spots are available on a limited, need-based basis. – Insurances Accepted: BCBS of Texas & United/Optum
