Good therapy starts with feeling like the person across from you actually gets it. That’s what I care about most, and it’s what clients tell me they notice right away: they feel seen and understood, often from our very first session. That connection makes it possible to talk honestly and start making real progress. I work with children, teens, and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, workplace stress, substance use, relationship challenges, and major life changes. I bring both clinical training and lived experience to this work, so I meet people where they are, without judgment. Sessions with me are collaborative and practical. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you notice and reshape your thinking patterns, Motivational Interviewing to help you find your own reasons for change, and Positive Psychology to build on the strengths you already have. You’ll leave with coping skills you can use between sessions, plus the insight that makes change stick. Some days you’ll also meet Lacey, my Golden Retriever, who comes to the office with me. She’s gentle, friendly, and great at making a first visit feel warm and welcoming. If you’re allergic or just not a dog person, let me know and she’ll sit that session out. If you want a therapist you can truly be yourself with, I’d love to hear from you. Supervision Disclosure: Gillian is a Resident in Counseling and does not have authority for independent practice.
