Making that initial appointment can sometimes feel daunting and challenging. You are not alone. It takes courage to seek support and I am pleased that you are taking the first step in finding a therapist. I believe that when people come to therapy, they allow themselves opportunities for self-exploration and growth. It is my goal to create a safe space where you can make positive changes and live a more fulfilling life. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist. I am also nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in psychology in 2006 and obtained my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University Montgomery in 2009. I completed my internship at a domestic violence shelter and found a passion in working with survivors of complex trauma, so I ended up accepting a position with them right out of school and stayed there for 10 years. I have been in private practice since 2019 and enjoy helping people grow and learn more about themselves. My style is client-centered and incorporates perspectives and tools from cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, and humanistic approaches. My work with adolescents often includes art, sand play, and role-playing techniques. I would be honored to have the opportunity to work with you. “Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” – Brene Brown
