My name is Hadlie Winslow, and I am thrilled to be a part of your mental health journey as a Graduate Counseling Intern at Coffee Talk Therapy. I am currently completing my Master of Health Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Catawba College and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My journey to counseling includes a background in mental health advocacy as an intern which involved developing a video series on student mental health and education where I worked with children with and without disabilities. My passion for counseling particularly grew throughout my work with children in the educational setting which further led me towards pursuing play therapy in my current fieldwork experience. My areas of focus incorporate child and play therapy, anxiety and emotional regulation, behavioral and social skills development, school and life transitions, and parent and family support. Through the use of play therapy, I want to help children increase in their confidence, freely express their emotions, and develop healthy coping skills alongside partnering with caregivers to foster growth and healing that lasts.
