As a therapist, I'm drawn to the deeper work of understanding how we can know something intellectually and still feel unable to change it. Through my practice, I found EMDR therapy to be a powerful way to help clients move beyond insight alone and create meaningful change in how they experience themselves and their relationships. I specialize in EMDR therapy for adults carrying the effects of past experiences into their lives today. Particularly, I commonly work with those who grew up with abuse, neglect, inconsistency, or lack of emotional safety, and have experienced things like sexual trauma, relationship struggles, self-worth difficulties, dissociation, or complex trauma. Many of my clients are highly self-aware. They may have spent years in therapy, understand where their patterns come from, and still find themselves reacting in ways they don't want. You may know you're safe, but your body still responds as if you're in danger. You may know you're worthy of love, but part of you still expects rejection or abandonment. EMDR offers a way to work with the original experiences and beliefs underlying these patterns, rather than simply talking about them. My goal is to create a space where you can understand your responses with compassion while also doing the deeper work of shifting them. If you're wondering whether EMDR is right for you, I'm here to help. Reach out to talk more about what you're experiencing and whether we may be a good fit.
