Hanshu believes that healing begins with feeling truly understood. She connects deeply with the immigrant experience and is passionate about supporting individuals and families who may feel caught between cultures or weighed down by stigma around mental health. Fluent in Mandarin, she values creating a safe space where language and culture are embraced as strengths in the healing journey. Hanshu earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology in 2019 after beginning her graduate studies in 2017, and she is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in counseling psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Pacifica is recognized for its depth psychology tradition, which emphasizes the importance of meaning, story, and the unconscious in the healing process. Since 2022, Hanshu has been providing psychotherapy through her practicum and subsequent clinical training, working with clients facing trauma, depression, anxiety, family conflict, acculturation stress, and identity challenges. She views symptoms not simply as problems to be solved but as meaningful adaptations that reflect resilience and creativity. Her therapeutic style is compassionate, relational, and culturally responsive. She integrates psychodynamic, attachment based, and trauma informed approaches while remaining attentive to the influence of family history, cultural background, and systemic barriers on well being. Clients often describe her as warm, open, and deeply invested in their growth. Her goal is to walk alongside each person as they move toward authenticity, resilience, and emotional well being.
