Introduction

Hayley is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in the state of North Carolina (License #20605A). She received her Masters of Arts in Christian Marriage, Family, and Individual Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2024. Prior to that, she received her Masters degree in Theological Studies from The West Institute; and her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Appalachian State University. During graduate school, Hayley interned with Cornerstone Counseling and Wellness and Faith Baptist Church. Hayley has a passion for serving adults, pre-teens (10-12), teens 13+, who need someone to walk alongside them, right where they are on a variety of paths. She has a desire to counsel those who have faced some dark areas in their lives, helping them to see that light is possible through sharing their experience, personal growth, and healing. She values the uniqueness of each client’s story, recognizing no two people are the same. She is passionate about collaborating with the client to help them find their own peace and joy in their lives. She views all people holistically by focusing on each individual’s mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Her approach to counseling incorporates multiple theories including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Family Systems, etc. She recognizes that each client is unique, tailoring her approach to the needs, their story, goals and preferences of the client. She is comfortable integrating faith into counseling at the client’s request. Hayley served as a cross-cultural worker, where she lived in another culture, interacted with different religious beliefs, and saw hurting people. She also worked in a therapeutic residential center for teenagers, where she saw mental health needs in a larger capacity. Hayley’s current and past professional experience influence her desire to work with various populations. Her areas of interest include, but are not limited to: Trauma, grief, anxiety, cross-cultural workers, family conflict, foster care and adoption, self-harm, substance abuse, premarital counseling, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions. Hayley’s aim is to create a safe space for people to find healing through being heard, seen, and understood. She is open to meeting with clients both in person and online. In her free time, Hayley enjoys dancing, journaling, serving at her church, and any time spent with family and friends.
