You survived what happened. Now it’s time to heal. I am Joyce Malissa Garcia, Ed.S, LMHC, LPC, and I specialize in helping women and adolescent girls who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by past trauma begin to heal and rebuild emotional safety. I hold an Educational Specialist (Ed.S) degree in Traumatology and am currently pursuing a PhD in Psychological and Counseling Studies with a focus in Trauma and Crisis. My advanced training reflects my deep commitment to understanding complex trauma, attachment wounds, and emotional healing at a deeper level. My advanced training in trauma and crisis work is often what draws clients who are looking for a deeper, more specialized level of care. Many of my clients come to me struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, self-harm, substance use, and long-standing patterns that feel hard to break. Often, these experiences are rooted in unresolved trauma and attachment injuries that deserve compassionate, informed care. My approach is trauma-informed and attachment-focused, helping you gently understand the root of your symptoms while building emotional stability, healthier coping strategies, and a stronger sense of self. For clients who desire it, I also offer Christian-integrated counseling, integrating faith into the healing process in a way that is safe, respectful, and client-led. My goal is to help you move from surviving to living with clarity, peace, and emotional freedom.
