Introduction

CLINICAL APPROACH Somatic, trauma-informed psychotherapy is offered to individuals and couples, alongside advanced clinical supervision and consultation for licensed and pre-licensed therapists. The work is relational and grounded in nervous system awareness, with emphasis on depth, integration, and clinical clarity. The development of gentle curiosity toward one’s internal and somatic experience forms the basis for compassion and authentic expression. This contemplative, whole-person relationship supports clearer and more connected ways of relating to oneself, others, and the broader world. Healing is supported through nervous system processing, parts reintegration, and thoughtful care of developmental and child states that continue to shape experience. This work integrates Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and somatic, experiential approaches, informed by Buddhist and Feminist psychology. Areas of focus include trauma, complex trauma, and attachment injury. Services include psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and groups, as well as Sensorimotor consultation and clinical supervision for therapists domestically and internationally. SUPERVISION FOR PRE-LICENSED THERAPISTS Clinical supervision is provided to pre-licensed practitioners, supporting both clinical development and the establishment of private practice. Supervision emphasizes the cultivation of the clinician’s internal wisdom and strengths as guiding resources, while offering structured support for ethical, effective practice. Generalized supervision includes a range of evidence-based modalities, with flexibility to support clinicians’ individual areas of interest. Somatic theory, neuroscience, Polyvagal Theory, and Internal Family Systems–informed approaches are integrated alongside foundational modalities such as CBT and DBT, grounded in contemporary research. Supervision also supports the practical aspects of building and sustaining a psychotherapy practice, including documentation, billing, ethical considerations, and liability awareness. Accepted insurance panels include BCBS, Medicaid, MVP, and Cigna. Supervision is offered individually and in small groups, and includes analytic understanding, experiential learning, present-moment exploration, and mindful self-reflection. SUPERVISION AND CONSULTATION FOR LICENSED THERAPISTS Individual and group supervision and consultation are offered to licensed psychotherapists seeking to deepen their clinical work through somatic, mindfulness-directed, and parts-based approaches. Consultation integrates conceptual understanding with experiential learning, supporting clarity, precision, and confidence in clinical decision-making. Areas of focus include nervous system functioning, Polyvagal-informed frameworks, present-moment process, state-specific memory, core organizers of experience, somatic tracking, parts integration, adaptive responses, and the resourced adult self. Emphasis is placed on relational process and clinician self-awareness, with attention to how one’s own system shapes therapeutic work. Small groups are intentionally structured to remain individualized and supportive, balancing guidance, collaboration, and depth. The work is informed by Buddhist psychology and mindfulness-based practice, integrating analytic understanding with experiential learning within a feminist, inclusive, and collaborative framework. SENSORIMOTOR CONSULTATION Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist and Certified Sensorimotor Consultant, offering individual and group consultation to Sensorimotor students at Levels I, II, and Certification, domestically and internationally. Alumni volunteer assistant at the Trauma, Developmental/Attachment, and Certification levels of Sensorimotor training. Consultation integrates somatic neuroscience, developmental and attachment frameworks, and relational, experiential practice. Emphasis is placed on therapist presence, nervous system organization, trauma processing through the body, adaptive strategies, and the care of developmental and protective parts. Learning is supported through mindful study, experiential exploration, and self-reflection, with attention to how clinicians’ own systems influence clinical process. Introductory presentations on Sensorimotor Psychotherapy are also available to organizations seeking orientation to the model. COUPLES THERAPY Couples therapy supports authentic connection through an Internal Family Systems–informed approach integrated with somatic and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy methods. The work focuses on strengthening connection to self and partner while developing healthier communication, emotional regulation, sexuality, intimacy, and relational functioning. This holistic approach integrates reflective and experiential exploration of attachment patterns, family-of-origin influences, and relational dynamics. Couples develop greater awareness of their internal experience—including parts, somatic cues, and nervous system responses—as they arise within relationship, alongside a deeper understanding of their partner through both cognitive and felt experience. Therapy attends to deeper relational patterning while also addressing present-day challenges, using evidence-based relational skills to support safety, clarity, and flexibility in intimate and family relationships. ABOUT HEATHER Heather began providing psychotherapy in 2008, with a focus on mindfulness-directed and somatic approaches.
