Introduction

Hi, I’m Heather Pina-McGhee, LPC-S, RPT-S, owner of Life Chapters Counseling in Mansfield, Texas. I specialize in working with children and families, with a particular passion for helping young children express themselves, work through challenges, and develop greater emotional regulation and confidence. My approach is grounded in Child-Centered Play Therapy and attachment-focused care, and I also incorporate EMDR, sandtray, and other developmentally appropriate interventions based on each child’s individual needs. I work with children experiencing anxiety, ADHD and neurodivergence, big emotions and behavioral challenges, school difficulties, family changes, grief, trauma, and other emotional or relational concerns. Parents and caregivers are an important part of the process. I provide parent support and consultation to help families better understand their child’s needs and strengthen connection outside of the therapy room. Life Chapters Counseling is also home to additional clinicians who work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. If I’m not the best fit for your needs or availability, I’m happy to help connect you with another clinician in our practice.
