Heather Teske was born and raised locally before joining the Army Notational Guard. She is a graduate of the University of Phoenix for her undergrad and completed post masters studies at the College of St Scholastics, Duluth MN. Heather has over 30 years in the nursing field working in the field of intellectual delays (TBI, ASD), SPMI; civil commitments, Jarvis orders, Rule 20, BIPOC, LGTBQIA+ and general psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar. Heather spend her early years working in ECT at Fairview Hospital before transferring to the Anoka State Hospital where she worked with clients who are mentally ill and dangerous and civil commitments and complex mental health and/or multiple team members (SW, CM, Guardians). Heather is quite comfortable with prescribing and administering long acting injectable (LAI) medications. Heather works with clients that use clozapine, low dose naltrexone (LDN), and is wavered for buprenorphine (Suboxone). In 2026 Heather will be using GLP-1s for clients experiencing metabolic side effects of their mental health medications to encourage compliance and adherence. Heather's practice is a collaborative, patient centered approach that prioritizes lifestyle changes, lifestyle changes, and symptom management and monitoring over immediate pharmacological intervention. In addition to her complex psychiatric practice Heather has worked in substance use disorders since 2001 in detox and inpatient Lodging Plus at Fairview Riverside and inpatient at Unity Hospital and and has helped many clients successfully reduce their medications and live a life that is fulfilling and comfortable. Heather accepts clients from 16+ (14, with approval, if she can meet their needs) Heather does NOT work with folks with known dementia, Alzheimers , Huntington’s Disease or known organic brain disorders. Heather’s approach to medication management is to start with a thorough history to get to know you. Heather will use her skills and knowledge with your knowledge of yourself and your experiences and partner with you to find the best plan of care. Heather will include your supports in session, complete a comprehensive medical exam to create a personalized wellness plan. Medications may or may not be a part of that wellness plan Heather is a member of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Nurses Association (ANA). Outside of work you will find Heather with her family: her husband of over 31 years, 2 son’s and 2 grandchildren (so far). Heather spends her weekends in WI camping at the lake, boating, fishing, swimming, snowmobiling, and traveling to somewhere warm in the winter. ***Heather sees client from 2 separate offices (Introspect Mental health online and in person) and Peak Behavioral Health (online, no Medicare)
