Introduction

I'm Heidi Lengel, a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in perinatal mental health, reproductive wellness, trauma recovery, and parenting challenges. For over 20 years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside families through some of life's most tender and challenging moments—from navigating infertility and pregnancy loss to healing from birth trauma and adjusting to the profound identity shifts that come with parenthood. My approach is rooted in understanding that you are the expert on your own life. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, which helps us explore the different parts of ourselves that may be in conflict—the part that desperately wants to feel calm alongside the part that's exhausted and overwhelmed. Combined with EMDR for trauma processing and somatic awareness to help you reconnect with your body's wisdom, my work is about helping you access your own compassion and clarity. I hold advanced certifications as a Perinatal Mental Health Certified provider (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, a Complex Trauma Practitioner certification (CCTP-II), and specialized fertility care training from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. I'm also a certified Birth and Bereavement Doula, which means I understand the full spectrum of reproductive experiences—not just from a clinical perspective, but from a place of deep reverence for what bodies and hearts go through during these transitions. Whether you're struggling with infertility, processing a traumatic birth, navigating postpartum mental health challenges, or trying to parent in ways that feel aligned with your values while managing immense demands, I'm here to offer you the specialized, compassionate support you deserve. You don't have to do this alone.
