Introduction

My name is Dr. Hilary Maia Grubb. I am a queer, genderqueer psychiatrist and addiction medicine physician, and I use she/her and they/them pronouns. Please call me Hilary if you feel comfortable doing so! I believe you are the expert of your own experiences, struggles, and inner resources, and I co-create treatment with clients as equals, each with our own areas of expertise. I am double boarded-certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine, and provide psychotherapy and medication management to folks with a wide variety of mental health concerns. I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar spectrum disorders, psychosis, adult ADHD, addictions, and psychiatric illness in the setting of medical comorbidities. I practice client-centered and trauma-informed care grounded in evidence-based modalities including pharmacology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. My eclectic approach is informed by the principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, social justice, harm reduction, Health at Every Size, neurodiversity, and acknowledgement of the complex relationship psychiatry often has with marginalized communities. I welcome all sexual and gender diversities, including folks who identify as polyamorous and/or participate in the kink, leather, and BDSM communities.
