Introduction

Welcome!I’m Hilla Flohr, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) providing virtual therapy in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and California. I bring more than 15 years of experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Haifa in Israel and my Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland. After moving to the United States and completing my MSW, I spent nearly a decade working at a domestic violence agency, supporting survivors of intimate partner violence. Through this work, I had the honor of witnessing the strength and resilience people carry, even during some of the most painful and overwhelming moments. That experience continues to shape how I show up as a therapist today. What continues to draw me to this work is the opportunity to walk alongside people as they reconnect with themselves in more compassionate and authentic ways. I’m especially interested in the connection between emotional healing, the nervous system, and the body’s wisdom. I believe that when we feel supported and understood, it becomes a little easier to stay with ourselves and begin to heal. My work is grounded in approaches such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and mindfulness-based practices, while always staying attuned to your unique experience. More than any one method, I focus on creating a space where you can gently explore what’s coming up, while staying connected to yourself along the way. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges, including those who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. In addition to my work as a therapist and trauma-informed yoga teacher, I’m also a mom to two beautiful children and two golden retrievers. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, moving my body, traveling, and slowing down when I can. If you’re ready to begin or even just curious, I offer a consultation where we can get to know each other and see if working together feels aligned.
