You’re used to being the one who holds it all together—but lately, it feels like too much. Maybe you’ve spent so much time taking care of everyone else that you’re not even sure what you need anymore. You might feel overwhelmed, anxious, irritable, exhausted, or notice old patterns showing up in your relationships, parenting, or the way you treat yourself. Many of my clients have spent years showing up for everyone else while quietly setting their own needs aside. You may be in the thick of parenting, caring for an aging parent, working in a helping profession, or simply find yourself carrying more than your share in your relationships. You’re often the one others count on—but somewhere along the way, there stopped being much room for you. If caregiving is or has been part of your story, you deserve a space where the weight of those responsibilities—and the grief that can come with them—is understood, not something you have to explain. You may have learned early to keep the peace, take care of others, be the responsible one, or put your own needs last. Those ways of coping and connecting may have helped you then, but they may not be serving you in the same way now. Therapy with me can help you understand patterns that have been in the driver's seat for far too long, regulate what’s happening underneath them, and build capacity for something different. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I draw from Brainspotting, parts work, attachment, nervous system regulation, and trauma-informed approaches to help you better understand yourself and create meaningful change. Nearly two decades of working with people in counseling and in education have shaped how I understand the connection between what we’ve lived through, the responsibilities we carry today, and how we see ourselves and relate to others. Together, we’ll work toward creating more capacity—not so you can simply carry more, but so you have more room for yourself. More room to feel grounded, be present in your relationships, make choices that reflect what you need, and reconnect with parts of life that may have gotten lost along the way. Let’s make room for connection, growth, and joy. More Than Talk Therapy... I'm trained in Brainspotting, a brain and body-based approach that can support deeper processing beyond words alone. Brainspotting is experiential, allowing the nervous system to process memories organically. I'm also trained in Sand Tray Therapy and may incorporate online sand tray into sessions when appropriate. Like Brainspotting, it is an experiential approach that can help access emotions, deepen self-understanding, and support healing. It can be especially valuable when words are hard to find or don't seem to fully capture your experience. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, we'll work together to find what feels most helpful for you. I can integrate attachment-based, trauma-informed, and evidence-based approaches, tailoring therapy to your unique needs, goals, and comfort level. Frequently Asked Questions Do you accept insurance? I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. FSA and HSA payments are accepted. Do you provide superbills? Yes, I can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance at no additional cost. How do I know if I have out-of-network benefits? I recommend you contact your insurance provider and ask them directly. They may ask you for CPT codes: 90791 (Initial Assessment) and 90837 (55-minute Psychotherapy session). Do you offer in-person therapy? I provide secure telehealth therapy for adults throughout Virginia. Do you offer parent coaching? This practice is centered on therapy for adults. Parent coaching is generally centered on parenting strategies and child-related challenges. Therapy is centered on you—supporting your emotional well-being, building capacity, and understanding the patterns that influence how you navigate parenting and other areas of life. My background working with children and families allows me to thoughtfully support parents as they navigate parenting challenges, while keeping the focus of therapy on you. Do you work with teens? I work with older teens who are a good fit for telehealth therapy. My experience working with teens across schools, higher education, and outpatient mental health helps me support them (and their parents) as they navigate increasing independence, relationships, identity, and life's transitions. Do you offer a free consultation? Absolutely. I'm happy to answer your questions during a free 15-minute consultation. How do I schedule a free 15-minute consultation? Click 'Request Appointment' to directly sign up for a slot. If the times/days listed don't work, no worries, click 'Contact' or call the number listed, and we can work out a time/day that works. What can I expect during the first initial session? Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another, talk about what's bringing you to therapy, and begin identifying your goals. We'll work together to develop a plan that feels right for you. What if I'm not sure therapy with you is the right fit? That's completely okay. Finding the right therapist is important. The consultation is a chance to ask questions, learn more about my approach, and decide whether working together feels like a good match. There is no obligation to schedule. I can also provide other referrals if that is helpful. Good Faith Estimate Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are uninsured or choose not to use insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of care. My standard fee is $150 for a 55-minute therapy session, and you may request a Good Faith Estimate at any time.
