My name is Holly Herzfeld, and I use they/them pronouns. I am a body-informed psychotherapist with experience across residential eating disorder care, queer-affirming integrated healthcare, community-based dance/movement therapy with people experiencing homelessness, and outpatient private practice specializing in complex trauma. Across these settings, my work integrates talk therapy with somatic and creative approaches, honoring the body not simply as a symptom to interpret or something that needs to “be fixed”, but as a source of information and self-understanding. The therapy I provide can look many different ways! Most of my sessions involve a majority of sitting and talking. However, depending on a client’s wants and needs, we might also use movement and dance or incorporate other expressive arts modalities, such as clay, music, or drawing, to support and expand these explorations. These approaches are always collaborative and optional, and are intended to offer additional ways of understanding and expressing experiences that may be difficult to access through words alone. Outside of my work, you will find me on a long walk with my dog Dozy, at a local contra dance, or at the playground with my younger cousins. “To hold ourselves as tenderly as we try to hold everything else in this world is a great act of self-forgiveness.” —Jane Hirshfield
