Introduction

Holly Whitfield, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. She brings a calm, compassionate, and practical approach to care, helping clients better understand their symptoms and feel informed and involved in treatment decisions. With more than 20 years of healthcare experience, Holly has worked across emergency medicine, pediatric urgent care, school health, women’s and postpartum care, outpatient medicine, and patient triage. Her broad medical background allows her to consider mental health concerns within the larger context of physical health, development, family, and daily functioning. Holly works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood concerns, trauma-related symptoms, life transitions, and other behavioral health challenges. Her approach incorporates comprehensive psychiatric assessment, medication management when appropriate, psychoeducation, supportive interventions, CBT-informed strategies, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. She values collaboration, transparency, and creating a treatment plan that feels both clinically appropriate and realistic for each client. Holly sees clients from both Fredericksburg and Stafford offices, as well as offers online appointments.
