I am an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Louisiana and can work with clients of all ages and many presenting concerns ranging from trauma to spirituality to anxiety to chronic pain. I am licensed in LA and hold additional training credentials in trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, and DBT. My strengths are empathy, understanding, patience, flexibility, and providing support. I start from a client-centered and holistic approach and will utilize different theories and techniques that best fit each client. As we get to know each other, and I get familiar with your story and values, we will determine the best approach together. If there is ever anything I am doing that is not working or not liked, I encourage client's feedback and we adjust as needed. The ideal client is someone who is ready and willing to do the work necessary for change, but if you need motivation I can help with that too. I believe that counseling is a collaborative process in which your feedback and engagement is necessary in the change process. I will always do what I can, but the ultimate change comes from the trust built in session and the work you put in as a client. I graduated in 2018 with a Master's of Science in Counselor Education from ULL with a focus on clinical mental health. I have 8 years of experience in helping clients and have experience working with different populations in many different settings. I enjoy working with clients from various walks of life but find myself often working with teenagers and women of different ages. I can work with clients of all ages and identities who present with a desire to change in many different areas of life, but I have specialized training, experience, and/or interest in working with clients presenting with acute and chronic trauma, familial or marital struggles including divorce, addiction related difficulties, chronic pain and illness, spirituality, pre and perinatal, and postpartum experiences, women's issues, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and neurodivergence. Therapy is not without challenges and change can be difficult, but if you are committed to the process you can expect benefits in relation to acceptance, experience of, and functioning in the areas of concern you come to session to work on. I am 33 and currently reside just outside of Lafayette. I'm married and have two young children. I am an Arkansas native but have lived in Louisiana since 2011. I have also been a client myself more than once, so I can appreciate and relate to the experience of being a client and the work that goes into being successful in therapy. I feel like mentioning this is important, to not only allow for my clients to be fully informed when working with me, but to also open the door for those who may be seeking understanding, or may be looking for someone who is experienced with chronic pain and illness, and hopefully reduce any pre-counseling anxiety one may be experiencing, that I have had my own struggle with chronic pain and illness, along with other things, and I live with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, multiple co-morbidities connected to these such as autoimmune conditions, immune deficiencies, POTS, ADHD, and a few others. I desired to help others and went into counseling because I needed and receive help starting in my teen years. I understand first hand how difficult seeking help and finding help in dealing with things of this nature while also learning how to manage and live with these diagnoses can be, and I hope to be able to provide that help and support you may be looking for while walking through life and life with chronic illnesses and pain, both physical and emotional. I offer therapy sessions both in person and online. I'm available throughout the week at varying times and will do my best to find a time that works for both you and me. I accept self-pay and some insurances and I am currently in the process of getting credentialed with additional private insurances. Please reach out with any questions, I'd be happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.
