Introduction

There aren't many hills I'll die on — other than Mt. Everest, which is very tall and I am extremely out of shape. But here's one I will absolutely die on: neurodivergent clients deserve neurodivergent clinicians. I'm Crystalena, an AuDHD therapist who understands neurodivergence academically and from the inside. Before I was a therapist, I spent 15 years teaching middle school as a special-education-certified teacher, and I hold a Ph.D. in human development. I've spent a long time studying how brains develop, and even longer being one of the brains everyone was trying to figure out. I work with autistic and ADHD teens, young adults, and adults navigating burnout, masking, late diagnosis, identity, and the everyday exhaustion of moving through a world that wasn't built with your brain in mind. My approach draws on DBT and solution-focused therapy, but it's never about compliance or "fixing" anything. The goal is to help you build a life that actually works for how your brain works, not one that just looks acceptable from the outside. If you're tired of translating yourself into something more palatable, or you're ready for a therapist who doesn't need the CliffsNotes version of what autistic or ADHD experience feels like, I'd love to talk.
