Introduction

Our assumptions and beliefs about the world inform our feelings, which in turn, influences our behavior. However, many of those assumptions are not entirely our own, or even within our conscious awareness. Many of these invisible beliefs come from our parents, our communities, negative or traumatic experiences, or even a less developed version of ourself. Living a life that does not reflect our values as a unique individual with a singular world-experience often results in an inner-conflict that can spill outward and negatively impact into our romantic, familial, and professional relationships Taking the time to explore which thoughts belong to our present, authentic selves, and which are the artifacts of other’s perceptions and experiences is one of the most important gifts I believe an individual can give to themselves. My psychotherapeutic approach is strongly rooted in Psychodynamic, Attachment and Systems theory, and I value exploring the ways our environments—at all stages of our development—have influenced and transformed our understanding of others and self, and thus influence the ways we function today. It is my hope to support your exploration of this self-understanding, while bringing the important consideration of multiculturalism, social justice, and historical trauma into this analysis. I earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Clinical Certification in Trauma Treatment from Antioch University New England. During my clinical residency I worked primarily with individuals experiencing Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) and severe attachment injury, which can often express with PTSD-like symptoms. I have in-depth clinical understanding and experience with PTSD, depression, anxiety, disordered eating, alcohol and substance abuse (including Dual-Diagnosis), LGBTQ+ experiences, grief and loss, and major life transitions. I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) which are clinically proven as the most effective way for treating Trauma and PTSD, along with a myriad of other diagnoses, psychological conditions, and disruptive behaviors. I value creating a nonjudgmental space where individuals are comfortable to disconnect from the tasks and stressors of their daily lives, take an hour to comfortably and completely look inward, and collaborate together to bring compassion, curiosity, and self-understanding to the present.
